“Cordillera was looking for an experienced PR professional with a proven track record - we found just that.”
– Marty Suarez, Cordillera, CO

Hula Communications offers a unique approach to agency-inspired public relations. This small, creativity-driven firm specializes in media relations, crisis communications, community relations and copywriting within the travel/tourism, recreation and real estate development industries.

The Hula Communications difference lies with its principal, Emily McCormack. Emily handles each account personally, meaning each client benefits directly from her background and experience. It means Hula delivers in the value category, as well with each client’s strategy transforming seamlessly and immediately into the execution phase.

Emily founded Hula in the fall of 2005 with a philosophy based upon servicing only one client within each specific market. Thanks to this approach you can feel confident knowing there is no internal competition for the best, most creative ideas, and that your project, product or story is receiving total focus and attention from a senior-level professional.

Many people ask what inspired the name Hula Communications. Emily and her husband, Mike, were married in Hawaii in the spring of 2005, and the beauty, culture and personality of this spectacular place left a lasting impression. While brainstorming ideas for a company identity, the word “hula” made it onto the short list. When Emily began researching the meaning, she found one definition that expanded upon the literal meaning to include “a unique form of communication.” Upon further digging, Emily also found “a belief that the meaning of the words is to be taken seriously.” The name perfectly fit Emily’s philosophy and belief in PR; and so it came to be.
